Summary:

As a Biodefense Instructor you will serve as the subject matter expert to design and implement a comprehensive training program in biodefense, tailored to the specific needs of the Army.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works directly with government staff to develop, maintain, and deliver a comprehensive biodefense training program tailored to the specific needs of the Army and customer organizations. Collaborates with both civilian and military subject matter experts in Public Health, Infectious Disease, Laboratory Science, and Infection Control to develop and maintain current training programs and courses.
  • Serve as the primary instructor for protection against biological threats, such as bioterrorism, pandemics, and the deliberate release of biological agents.
  • Serve as the primary instructor for pathogen detection, response protocols, and laboratory safety.
  • Serve as the primary instructor for the development of countermeasures to mitigate the impact of biological threats.
  • Serve as the primary instructor for the Medical Management of Chemical and Biological Casualties Course (MCBC).
  • Serve as the primary instructor for Field Identification of Biological Warfare Agents (FIBWA) course.
  • Serves as the Site SME on all matters related to tactics, techniques, and procedures for the treatment of biological agent casualties.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset and the ability to think critically.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years of recent experience with the military as either a Commissioned or Non-Commissioned Officer (E6 or O3 and above) or one year of specialized experience which includes assisting in the design, implementation, facilitation, collaboration, coordination, and administration of biodefense or public health courses.
  • Recent experience as a 52 or 74 series AOC or 74 series MOS in the Army or equivalent in another U.S. Military Service branch.
  • Recent experience with military training concepts and organizational structure.
  • Shall possess or obtain certifications comparable to industry standards within 180 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

The salary range for the position is $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually.
