Summary

This position is part of Novanta's Cambridge Technology business unit. Cambridge Technology designs, develops, and manufactures innovative beam steering solutions, including polygon and galvanometer optical scanning components, 2-axis and 3-axis scan heads, scanning sub-systems, high power scanning heads, and controlling hardware and software. As the inventor of galvanometer-based optical scanning technology, it is our mission to drive innovations in photonics by delivering unprecedented technical capabilities.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement and develop solutions. Your focus will be on optimizing production processes, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance.

Primary Responsibilities

* Helping with new process development, troubleshooting, and optimization.

* Developing and implementing manufacturing processes and systems.

* Designing tools and equipment used in the manufacturing process.

* Ensuring products are manufactured to meet quality standards.

* Developing training materials and conducting training for production teams.

* Providing technical support to production teams.

Requirements

* Possess a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.

* 3-5 years experience in lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.

* Have excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

* Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

* Be able to design and implement manufacturing processes that meet quality and productivity targets.

* Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
