Job Summary

The Senior Director, Human Resources is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The Senior Director, Human Resources is a member of the client management team(s). The Senior Director, Human Resources actively supports discussions and transfers best practices from different functions in the organization. The Senior Director, Human Resources is responsible for leadership of the people management area and acts as the facilitator for the management team.The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs communicating needs proactively to HR and partners to develop timely and practical solutions.This position may include international human resource responsibilities. The Director, Human Resources maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its short and long term plans, its culture and its competition.This position reports to the CHRO and is a member of the Senior HR Leadership Team.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operates as both a strategic and operational HR leader

  • Full life cycle human resources support within the business, through the planning and execution of HR best practices and programs.

  • Partner with all management levels to drive business results that optimize talent, structure, process and culture.Provide advice to executive leadership on all organizational matters.

  • Participates in leadership team meetings to develop operating plans and ensure that the function has the people, organization and culture to enable it to execute effectively to meet near term and longer range goals.Partners with key business leaders on opportunities to leverage people to meet organizational objectives, identify key business issues and the related people, organizational and cultural implications.

  • Collaborate with the HR COEs (Total Reward, Learning & Organizational Development, Talent Acquisition, and HR Operations) and other HR leaders on all elements of the HR delivery model to ensure delivery of world class cost effective HR solutions, services and programs to address critical business needs.Use data driven HR business insights to provide solutions and recommendations to management.

  • Support collaborative efforts with US, Europe and Asia HR teams to drive global alignment and execution across the client groups.Support improvement of collaboration of global HR team responsible for these client groups.

  • Identifies, develops, and implements Human Resource programs that support the client group strategy, business objectives and key performance priorities of organization.Support the development of a work force strategy and collaborate with Recruitment to translate strategy into an executable plan

  • Responsible for organization development, change management, leadership development, diversity, and the enhancement of performance of the unit.

  • Acts as the performance/talent management improvement driver.Work w senior management to design & review succession/development plans for key talents and key job positions.Challenges the organizational structure of the internal client and proposes changes

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Engineering, Science related discipline or combination of education/previous experience

  • Minimum of 15 years overall HR experience.

  • Minimum 7 years HR leadership experience, including support of a leadership team in a high tech or industrial/manufacturing environment.

  • Deep knowledge of Human Resources practices and a demonstrated ability to provide solutions in a complex and fast moving environment

  • Previous experience in a combination of the following HR disciplines (e.g., compensation, organization development, employee relations, staffing, performance management.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to lead change management activities in the organization.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, leadership capabilities, including people development, objective setting, and measurement skills

  • Knowledge of and experience with employment laws, labor relations and practices including: FMLA, ADA, AAP, FLSA, DOT, EEOC, OFCCP, litigation, issue and dispute resolution, pre-employment drug testing, etc.

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities. Be self-directed and motivated.

  • Proven ability to effectively engage and build relationships with all levels of employees and management and across various functions

  • Outstanding communication skills (both written & verbal)

  • Strong analytical & systems skills; demonstrated ability to drive data based decision making.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.

  • Ability to prioritize,oversee multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, leadership capabilities, including people development, objective setting, and measurement skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence HR professionals in a shared services environment.

  • Experience in coaching, training, and developing employees in a high performance culture.

  • Ability to take the initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and recommend solutions.

  • Relevant industry experience in semiconductor, high tech or industrial/manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced business with global markets

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • This position has responsibility for a small staff (1-3) of HR Generalists

  • Serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

  • Responsible for HR Project Teams of up to 20 people.

  • This position has budgetary input to the HR budget

  • Supervisory Responsibility

  • MBA or MS in related discipline strongly preferred

  • SPHR
