The Role

The Product Marketing Associate, Mobile is responsible for maximizing audience conversion and usage of Yahoo Mail mobile apps. This role is responsible for executing the overall marketing strategy, specific campaigns, and product communications to drive product adoption and feature usage for the Yahoo Mail apps. This role partners with Product Managers to ensure the voice of the customer is reflected in product strategies, features, and definition. This role partners with media planning and creative teams to develop creative assets used throughout the user funnel. This role occasionally includes planning user research to understand current users, user needs and identify new growth segments.

Your Day

To be considered for this role, you must have a strong track record of success in executing consumer acquisition, engagement and retention programs for mobile product experiences. To be successful in this role, you must be a team player with strong strategic aptitude, product sensibilities, creative skill, and analytical capabilities. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Partner with team to execute marketing strategies and campaigns that deliver on adoption and usage goals of Yahoo Mail mobile apps

  • Be a subject matter expert about your Communication apps, competition, and industry and contribute to strategy and plans for growth; become a trusted advisor to Product Management

  • Track, test, and optimize the user funnel to ensure key performance metrics and to continuously improve best practices; be proficient in ASO testing

  • Analyze user needs and identify/prioritize the problems, pain points, and pleasure points (via analytics, behaviors, blogs, ratings/reviews, feedback, surveys, etc.).

  • Ensure consistent usage of Yahoo Mail positioning and messaging in all assets working with internal and external agencies to develop compelling creative briefs and produce differentiated assets

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to execute against the acquisition, engagement, and retention goals for Yahoo Mail across available marketing channels including product onboarding, CRM, social, mobile networks, SEM, and Yahoo Network

  • Plan research necessary to understand customer needs and new opportunities


  • Minimum 2 years of consumer marketing experience

  • Proven track record executing marketing campaigns in the consumer internet or ecommerce space

  • Demonstrated track record of experimentation leveraging data insights to drive mobile growth

  • Track record of influencing people and process outside immediate work group

  • Proven success in a fast-paced, matrixed work environment, as well as the ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly changing, and highly competitive industry

  • Strong articulation of right / left brain thinking with proven creative and analytical skill­set (e.g. performance driven marketing campaigns)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • 4 year college degree
