The Nurse Manager oversees, coordinates, and supervises the provision of student nursing and medical care, including the provision of psychiatric nursing and medical care, dental care, eye care, and other specialty services. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the quality of nursing care; ensures that the nursing department works cooperatively with external health care providers, and works effectively with other Stetson School departments and disciplines; and oversees, monitors, and develops unit-based team nursing. The Nurse Manager ensures the development of medical policies and protocols; ensures that all health-related policies, protocols, and practices reflects high standards of care; and implements and monitors a system for ensuring the quality assurance of health care at Stetson School. The Nurse Manager develops and monitors systems for ensuring the effective administration of daily medication, sick calls, and nursing interventions; provides oversight for and coordinates the scheduling of on-campus and off-campus medical appointments and transportation, including labs and examinations; and ensures accurate and timely documentation and required follow-up on medical care. The Nurse Manager oversees the administration and collection of on-campus health-related student data, including behavioral and other scales and nutritional information, and ensures that the nursing department is efficiently and effectively managed, develops and oversees the scheduling of nurses, and manages and supervises the ordering, management, distribution, and documentation of prescribed and non-prescribed medication. The Nurse Manager provides supervision for all nursing and medical staff, including administrative supervision of the advance practice nurse, psychiatrist, nutritionist, dietician, and other medical staff or contracted medical consultants; ensures the training of all staff in student and other relevant health-related matter and communication of health-related concerns to staff; and manages and engages in the nursing on-call system.

Supervision of nurses and nursing department staff, including oversight for all nursing duties and responsibilities.

Overall organization and coordination of the nursing department, including scheduling and signing off time sheets.

Hiring and supervising the orientation of nurses and other nursing department staff.

Coordinating the team nurse model.

Delegation of nursing duties.

Chairing nursing meetings, and ensuring the recording and distribution of minutes.

Associate's Degree or equivalent experience from nursing program.

Licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.

At least three years experience as a registered nurse.

At least six months experience as a senior nurse or nurse coordinator.
