Job Summary The Assistant VP, Education & Organizational Learning will lead and direct diversity and inclusion educational, organizational learning and leadership experiences for faculty, staff and administrators at Auburn University.

The Assistant VP, Education & Organizational Learning will formulate and deliver a diversity and inclusion educational learning strategy to inform and drive change and success consistent with the University's mission, strategic priorities and diversity and inclusion goals. The Assistant Vice President will identify and prioritize diversity and inclusion educational needs across the campus, review and analyze climate assessment tools and related data and have keen acumen regarding the most current topics in diversity and inclusion science to inform the design of training and organizational learning needs across the institution. This professional will also design new and revise existing diversity and inclusion curriculum while threading the core values of diversity and inclusion throughout all supervisory, leadership and professional development experiences for faculty and staff. The Assistant Vice President will advise, consult and collaborate with key campus partners in Human Resources and Faculty Development to support and build capacity for diversity and inclusion organizational learning throughout the University. This professional will be fluent in learning technology, inclusive of web-based, face-to-face and integrated organizational learning formats and steeped in the most current diversity and inclusion science and inclusive excellence research.

Essential Functions for this position will include:

Leads the research, design, implementation, and coordination of diversity and inclusion educational learning curriculum and experiences for faculty and staff to create awareness and reflect institutional commitment to diversity, inclusion and inclusive excellence.

Manages the launch and integration of diversity and inclusion organizational learning for faculty and staff.

Develops tiered, web-based and face-to-face, innovative diversity and inclusion learning experience at introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels.

Establishes competencies in which to assess faculty and staff diversity and inclusion learning and aligns assessments and evaluation tools to measure growth and development of employees, impact on climate, and institutional culture.

Develops signature diversity and inclusion educational and professional development programs for Auburn University supervisors and leaders.

Creates, updates, and maintains a comprehensive content library of training plans, learning materials, and other related materials.

Researches models and develops experiences to engage conversations and facilitates dialogue among faculty and staff to strengthen connectedness within the academic community.

Researches, adopts, and utilizes evidence based, data driven approaches in the design of success and excellence promising strategies for faculty and staff.

Builds partnerships with departments, faculty, and staff to support and enhance the quality of life and experience for underrepresented staff and advance a shared vision to foster a diverse, welcoming and affirming environment.  

Minimum Qualifications Entry into the applicant pool requires a Masters Degree from an accredited institution; plus Ten (10) years experience in advancing diversity and inclusion initiatives in a complex organization. Experience researching, designing, and/or administering institutional diversity and education programs. Five (5) years experience in developing adult education/training/learning programs. At least two (2) years of directly supervising full-time employees.
