Location: South Carolina - West Columbia

Description: Summary: Manage, receive, store, and issue point of sale. Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with merchandise and arrange supplier merchandise in warehouse. Supports a physical count of stock or check and mark merchandise for sales force to utilize in market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Answer supplier and sales questions about merchandise and gives advice on customer merchandise selection.
  • Manage, itemize and total customer merchandise selection.
  • Take inventory or examine merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
  • Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred merchandise.
  • Receive, open, unpack and issue sales floor merchandise.
  • Clean display cases, shelves, and aisles.
  • Compare merchandise invoices to items actually received to ensure that shipments are correct.
  • Requisition merchandise from supplier based on available space, merchandise on hand, customer demand, or advertised specials.
  • Maintains updated account information for all assigned accounts and uses the information to plan and execute the day. Has the necessary POS needed for the day on the truck, returns unused POS to the warehouse promptly.
  • Submits daily activity report and merchandising reports. Prepares and maintains required paperwork, reports and records.

    Education and/or Experience: Associates degree or equivalent from college or technical school preferred; two years or more related experience, of which one to two years previous administrative experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents (such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals), write routine reports and correspondence, and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Spanish bilingual abilities preferred.

    Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts (such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume) and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to practical situations.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions (in mathematical or diagram form), and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 

    Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet, Microsoft Office Suite software (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and etc.), and order processing systems (such as AS400 / Alpha Database software, Logility, Microstrategy, and etc.) or the aptitude to learn
