Key Responsibilities: 

This position is responsible for ensuring that catering operations meet required operating standards.  Responsible for all communication about catered functions from origination of the order (either through Zipthru catering program, over the phone, or in person) through the delivery and pick-up of the catered function.  Identifies client/guest needs and interacts in a positive, proactive manner. Works on a consistent basis with management to generate new business and maintains contact with present clients.   Person is responsible for ensuring that customer complaints are appropriately handled and rectified. Helps the manager to plan menus, layout, decor, and booking entertainment (when appropriate) for catered events.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assignedInteracts with Food Service Director

  • Ensures catering service standards by expediting orders with the team
  • Positive, proactive and respectful interaction with guests and clients.
  • Acts as liaison between Eurest and client representatives.
  • Acts as a public relations contact for Eurest Dining Services as needed.
  • Monitors daily operations of the catering department.
  • Develop, implement and build a quarterly marketing plan for the catering department in conjunction with contract standards and in coordination with Regional Marketing Manager.
  • Actively pursues new catering business through client interaction, sales techniques, catering fairs and weekly communication
  • Interact with the other managers in planning menus for catered functions.
  • Maintains accurate tracking systems for catered events. 
  • Distributes information to all department's staff members through preparation and distribution of detailed function sheets or BEOS on a daily, and weekly basis

  • Represents company in a courteous, efficient, timely and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions
  • Interacts with customers in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction, anticipates customers needs
  • Greets customers courteously
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of catering menu items and explains same to customers accurately
  • Relays relevant comments from customers directly to supervisors
  • Interact with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented manner
  • Consistently exhibits the ability to keep up with peak delivery hours and does so calmly, accurately and efficiently
  • Checks to ensure that all foods are merchandised attractively per standards
  • Remember that a complaint is a gift (not a nice one) but how we deal with it makes us great.
  • Food Safety/Sanitation
  • Responsible for ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures - follows HACCP standards
  • Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
  • Handles foods items appropriately during preparation
  • Ensures proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and in following prescribed production standards
  • Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service as assigned
  • Cleans equipment, as assigned and in a timely fashion
  • Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments
  • Physical Safety
  • Ensures corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed
  • Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
  • Cleans up spills his/her own work area immediately.
  • Corporate Standards
  • Completes daily and weekly work, as assigned, in a timely and thorough manner in accordance with department standards
  • Informs chef, supervisor, in a timely manner when supplies are low
  • Follows and observes all company policies and procedures
  • Follows company standards for attendance and punctuality
