The Business Intelligence (BI) Software Engineering role consists of the following activities and skills:

  • Works with Business Analysts and Business Customers to provide accurate and clear insight about our business.
  • Has close interaction with the Business Customer, Business Analyst, and Application Developers in the design, development, and maintenance of BI solutions.
  • Implements processes and mechanisms to ensure that data supporting our Business Intelligence program is accurate.
  • Develops data access solutions leveraging Oracle and Oracle Business Intelligence, Java, PL/SQL, SQL
  • Applies and provides second level support for Oracle ETL tools.
  • Implements and extends data warehouse and data marts as appropriate to support the needs of the business.
  • Implements BI solutions and trains users in order to ensure users are aware of application's critical aspects, capabilities, and proper use.
  • Translates functional specifications into technical specifications to meet and resolve business needs.
  • Applies data modeling techniques to optimize data storage and reporting.
  • Educates Business Analysts on how to leverage the data marts as designed.
  • Participates in BI Center of Excellence.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS

  • Wide-ranging experience, including proven experience leading work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of related experience in various software development technologies patterns and practices.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Post-graduate coursework desirable and at times required.
