Job Description

Plans, develops and oversees the Social Work services departments and programs. Establishes policies and procedures for the effective functioning of the department. Assesses need for Social Work services for individual, family and/or group intervention.

Responsibilities Include:
1. Supervises social work staff to maintain flow and quality of work to ensure timely accomplishment of workload and adherence to standards of quality.
2. Establishes staffing patterns and coordinates scheduling of staff. Recruits, interviews and trains employees, evaluates job performance and authorizes days off.
3. Reviews and interprets existing departmental and Medical Center policies and procedures. Develops, recommends and guides implementation of new or modified policies and procedures.
4. Participates in program planning. Identifies gaps in services and programs and makes recommendations for meeting community needs.
5. Prepares or directs preparation of case materials, statistical records, and reports of the designated department, Medical Center or governmental agencies.
6. May participate in funding activities to solicit funds from government and private sources to ensure continued program development. May also develop and write funding proposals. Travel to community meetings and/or community resources may be required.
7. Confers with professional, administrative, medical and managerial staff with regard to resolution of problem situations.
8. Performs related duties, as required.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW), required.
  • LCSW certification, required. Eligibility for ACSW certification upon hire, which must be attained within first year of employment.
  • Minimum of four (4) years progressively responsible related work experience to ensure familiarity with Social work program administration.
  • Inpatient Psych Experience, strongly preferred
