The Department of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas at Austin seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/non-tenure track positions teaching undergraduate courses. Positions are not available every semester and are contingent upon student enrollment and the availability of funding. Appointments are usually made on a semester-by-semester basis, though annual appointments are, at times, a possibility. Applicants are invited from all fields of Middle Eastern Studies and are expected to be excellent classroom teachers, engaged in scholarly activities and service. A PhD or extensive professional experience relevant to the Middle East is preferred. Salary is dependent upon position and qualifications. Background and academic credential checks are conducted on applicant(s) selected.
