Position Title: Communications Manager

Business Unit: Marketing

Reports to: Director of Corporate Communications

Position Overview:

This position is primarily responsible for developing a variety of content communications and strategies for the Company in support of line of business, marketing and communications initiatives including the writing and distribution of line of business publications, serving as a copywriting resource with a focus on brand alignment, corporate messaging, corporate events, and business and financial communications initiatives. This position also oversees the Communications Specialist in his/her efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

Plays a leadership role in writing and editing publications and electronic media such as Business Strategies Today, newsletters, brochures and other printed materials designed for the general public.

Using line of business information and interviews, writes and feeds content for ongoing publications, website knowledge center, intranet content (and backup) and other communications.

Develop communication strategies and activities in support of lines of business including communication message development, writing and editorial services, articles, messages, electronic communications and presentations.

Assert an expert role in the preparation and execution of all types of communications initiatives, acting as a 'go-to' resource for colleagues and business partners on 'best practices' and details related to their implementation.

Seek out opportunities to apply new and innovative approaches to reaching audiences as part of active participation in the strategic communications process and implementation of tactical plans.

Supports financial writing, investor relations, annual report and other technical and line of business content.

Develop and sustain metrics for monitoring continuous improvement of communications programs.

Manages review/approval of systems generated messaging, letters, company descriptions, lists, awards programs and policies and procedures.

Manages brand alignment in all communication efforts.

Serves as project manager on projects as assigned.

Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
