Job Description

Assist Senior Research Specialist of the Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies in all aspects of laboratory work including but not limited to making formwork, pouring concrete specimens, and assisting in test setups.

Perform maintenance of the laboratory and laboratory equipment (repairs, adjusts or replaces equipment as necessary).

Clean up laboratory areas on a daily basis.

Stock inventory supplies; responsible for the issuance of tools, materials, instruments and devices to students.

Assist with supply orders for student research projects and stock laboratory materials.

Perform other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma and at least 2 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in the following areas is preferred:

  1. Carpentry work
  2. Pouring concrete
  3. Use and repair of power tools
  4. Welding

Ability to assist in carrying out laboratory work pertaining to construction materials preparation and testing

Possess and utilize broadened technical knowledge and skill in operational processes to perform a defined array of activities pertaining to construction materials testing (concrete, wood, steel, brick).

Ability to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis is required.

Candidate must have a valid Missouri driver's license in order to drive University work trucks.
