The Senior Social Media Specialist will be responsible for executing Cision's social media strategy across our main global accounts, as well as managing and engaging the Cision customer community (Cision City). The Senior Social Media Specialist is responsible for managing owned social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities both on social and in Cision City. The Senior Social Media Specialist is responsible for building a community of Cision advocates and fostering collaborative relationships to drive customer loyalty, increase customer education, cross-sell/upsell opportunities and increase retention. The Senior Social Media Specialist is the voice of Cision on social platforms and as such, will manage our company image in a cohesive way to achieve our marketing goals. 

The Senior Social Media Specialist is a member of the Content Marketing team and reports to the VP, Content & Comms. They will work together to ensure Cision marketing initiatives are communicated across social media and Cision City.  

Successful candidates are insight-driven and have a combination of creative, analytical and strategic thinking and communication skills. Proven experience in a fast-moving, growth-oriented and collaborative environment strongly preferred.  

You'll help us with:

    • Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals and grow audience engagement on Cision's social media channels
    • Grow brand's presence across social properties 
    • Develop, execute and collaborate on creative campaigns that ensure we are creating innovative and measurable content for our platforms
    • Set specific objectives and report on engagement, leads, revenue and ROI as needed
    • Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily
    • Manage social content calendar, including researching key trends and visuals that are engaging and generate interest in the Cision brand and website
    • Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics in collaboration with marketing ops team
    • Collaborate with other teams to ensure brand consistency and create partnership programming that leverages employee contributions
    • Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
    • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
    • Provide copywriting and copyediting support for content marketing projects as needed 
    • Act as key liaison for social media within broader Marketing org in NA and globally
    • Manages activities to promote the long-term community vision for the brand and a roadmap to execute it. Promotes and mobilizes advocacy marketing opportunities  
    • Develops and manages the Cision City community platform including but not limited to web development and optimization, moderating forums, creating challenges, sourcing content from Cision's content marketing team, as well as providing discussion topics on professional development and industry trends. Champions continuous efforts to grow the Cision City community membership globally
    • Compiles regular reporting on performance analytics, ongoing initiatives and project progress
    • Partner with the customer reference, sales and customer success teams to develop a database of customers to participate in other external endorsements 
    • Engage with customers to propose and execute on co-marketing commitments that are mutually beneficial and valuable to customers for both their individual careers and their business

You'll be a good fit if you have:

    • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing or a related field is required. SaaS or B2B industry experience is an asset.  
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Social Media management, Customer Communications, or Community Management.  
    • At least 2 years of experience in global media organization within a similar role.  
    •        Proven work experience as a Social media manager

    •        Hands on experience in content management

    •        Excellent copywriting skills

    •        Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)

    •        Experience using and acting on social reporting tools

    •        Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics preferred but not required

    •        Experience with social media management platform (Falcon-io) and community management platform (Influitive) preferred but not required

    •        Familiarity with web design preferred but not required

    •        Excellent communication skills

    •        Analytical and multitasking skills

    •        Experience working cross-functionally to manage and execute customer programs that drive engagement, advocacy, revenue and retention

    • Advanced listening and verbal communication skills to understand stakeholder needs or problems and respond clearly and concisely.  
    • Strong project management skills including conceptualization, managing deadlines and objectives, and execution of plans 
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
