Job Description

As a Senior Sales Advisor, you will play an integral role in our clients' growth journey.  You are an experienced relationship builder with a customer-focused approach to sales.  With a deep understanding of your clients' business models and their current and emerging needs, you will be a trusted advisor providing timely, strategic, and scalable payments solutions. Internally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance each clients' experience and best position our multifaceted value proposition. This role requires a leader with vision in the Payments and FinTech space.

What success looks like:

  • Drive revenue growth by selling our full suite of payment products and services with a focus on ACH, Credit Card issuance, Merchant Services acceptance, P2C, RTP and cross-border solutions

  • Demonstrate success in assessing your clients' needs, recommending effective strategies, negotiating pricing to optimize profitability, and providing market competitive solutions

  • Proactive collaboration to facilitate strategic review of client portfolios, determine gaps in cash management products, and opportunities to expand existing relationships

  • Recognition as trusted advisor in payments products and services, providing key insights on technology-first solutions

  • Strong client retention and satisfaction

  • Strong partnerships with key colleagues across the Commercial Bank to achieve cross-sell goals

  • Proactive portfolio management to identify and resolve risk factors

Qualifications

Are you an operator in the payments space who enjoys serving as a trusted advisor to innovators, helping them to build smarter and scale faster?  Do you have FinTech experience but want the opportunity to have a broader impact on a global platform that supports 50% of all VC-backed tech and life sciences in the US?   Does the ideal profile below sound like you?  We want to talk.

  • 7+ years of prior Payments or FinTech industry experience, with either a product or B2B sales focus. We will get you up-to-speed quickly on SVB's bank operations, platforms and products, so direct banking experience is not required.

  • Industry expertise and an extensive network in the FS & FinTech vertical - ideally with transformative projects that span digital customer experience, payments and banking.

  • Strong aptitude and interest for payment and technology solutions. You monitor the evolving landscape of the Payments industry. Technology is driving rapid change in our space so we are adapting quickly to maintain SVB's market leadership role.

  • Clear ability to architect and implement effective strategies to meet sales goals and product penetration goals.

  • Agile: you easily shift between business-focused conversations with a founder or financial leader to a technology-focused conversation with a technology team.

  • Excellent negotiation, conflict management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Intellectually curious, self-motivated and driven by the solving clients' challenges.

  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate long-term relationships with diverse clients and colleagues.

  • Skilled in crafting effective client-facing and internal communications, both in writing and verbally. You have a data-driven approach and can easily aggregate and analyze complex information into a concise, clear summary for your audience.
