POSITION SUMMARY:



  • The Regional Director, Design reports to the Vice President, Construction Services
  • Located in Irvine California
  • Full-Time
  • Hybrid - 3 days onsite after 60 days of employment



In Irvine CA, We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Design to lead and drive our design strategy for the West Region. This individual will oversee both contract/design-build and National Account design initiatives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative solutions that align with our business objectives and client needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design leadership, excellent customer-facing skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple internal teams to support revenue growth and process improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design Strategy Leadership



  • Develop and lead the design strategy for the West Region, ensuring alignment with business goals and client needs across contract/design-build and National Account design projects.


Team Leadership



  • Supervise and mentor a diverse team of 15-20 design professionals, including both onsite and virtual team members, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.


Customer Interaction



  • Partner closely with clients to identify strategic opportunities, enhance customer services, and resolve issues. Lead discussions on design improvements and process optimizations, ensuring a customer-first approach.


Collaboration for Growth



  • Collaborate with Sales, Business Development, and other internal teams to support revenue growth, leveraging design as a competitive advantage. Identify areas where design can add value to customer relationships and contribute to sales efforts.


Process Improvement



  • Continuously evaluate and improve design processes to enhance efficiency, customer satisfaction, and the overall quality of work.


Travel



  • Travel up to 15% of the time (or as needed) within the West Region to meet with clients, team members, and stakeholders as required.

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, with a proven track record of successful project delivery in diverse industries and contexts.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:



  • 10+ years of design experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, overseeing teams in contract/design-build and/or National Account design.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a geographically dispersed team, managing both virtual and onsite team members.
  • Strong customer interaction skills with a track record of identifying strategic opportunities and delivering effective solutions to support customer needs and business growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with sales and business leaders to drive revenue growth and strategic initiatives through design excellence.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Knowledge or experience in construction services, design, or a related field.
  • Experience working with National Accounts or large-scale design projects.
  • Familiarity with design-build methodologies and the ability to integrate these processes into the broader business strategy.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
