About the Job
Reporting to Brightly's Chief Executive Officer; we are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Technology to lead and elevate our technology strategy as part of our Senior Executive team. As Head of Technology globally, you will be responsible for driving our software development lifecycle, from planning through execution, and ensuring that our technology infrastructure aligns with our business goals. A key aspect of this role is being a seasoned executive leader who collaborates effectively with other Senior Executive Leaders across departments to achieve seamless integration of technology with our company's broader objectives. You will oversee engineering teams, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software architecture, cloud-based solutions, and security practices, along with the leadership skills to unite cross-functional teams and inspire shared success across verticals. . The pay range for this position is <$200,000 - $315,000> and the annual incentive target is <25%> of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
What you will do
The SVP and Head of Technology will play a pivotal role in Brightly's growth, serving as the accountable leader for building and scaling a world-class technology organization. This individual will be responsible for driving and executing the technical vision & strategy to deliver highly secure, performant, and scalable solutions. We are looking for a technology leader with a history of success in B2B SaaS application development. The SVP and Global Head of Technology will be instrumental in shaping the future of our platform and applications, fostering innovation, and ensuring our technology remains at the forefront of the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the company's technology vision, ensuring alignment with business goals and long-term strategy.
- Technology Oversight: Lead and manage a global technology organization of approximately 375 (and growing) technology professionals, including 6 Direct Report Leaders. Provide guidance and mentorship to teams across engineering, architecture, data science, CISO, and threat research.
- Data Infrastructure: Develop and maintain a highly secure, scalable, and efficient data infrastructure tailored for complex B2B environments. Prioritize fault tolerance, performance, and security.
- Collaborate closely with Head of Product: Work closely with the Head of Product and the executive team to plan and execute Brightly's roadmap.
- Security & Privacy Focus: Oversee the company's cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring best-in-class practices are integrated into every layer of the tech stack. Provide leadership in threat research and intelligence.
- Innovation & Execution: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in execution. Champion the adoption of new technologies and best practices to maintain Brightly's leadership in the market.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key technology advocate within the company and with external stakeholders. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, including board members and customers.
- Data Science and AI: Lead the integration of advanced data science and AI capabilities into the company's products and services, driving innovation and leveraging data-driven insights to enhance decision-making and product functionality.
- Culture Carrier: Embody and promote Brightly's values of bias to action, solutions focused, resilience, customer obsessed, setting the tone for a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture across the technology teams. Act as a role model in driving accountability, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field. Master's Degree preferred.
- 12+ years of relevant experience
- Proven skills creating and deploying product management processes that are agile, flexible and goal-oriented with clear prioritization frameworks.
- Extensive experience as an SVP of Engineering, CTO or a similar senior leadership role, ideally within the cybersecurity, B2B SaaS, or data domains.
- Strong track record in building and scaling highly secure, fault-tolerant, and performant data infrastructure with significant complexity.
- Deep technical expertise in software engineering, architecture, data science, AI, and cybersecurity.
- Exceptional leadership and coaching skills managing large remote teams (100+), including software engineers and technical experts across various domains.
- Collaborative approach with a history of working closely with product and executive leadership to align technology with business strategy.
