Job Description

EBAD is seeking a Product Engineer Lead with experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment. The Product Engineer Lead will lead engineers to design, manufacture, and test electro-mechanical actuators for spacecraft application. Employee will be responsible for evaluating designs for manufacturability and leading transition of newly developed products into production. Candidate shall have experience in interpreting and implementing customer requirements, product design, tool / fixture design, and manufacturing cell layout.

Responsibilities:

The Product Engineer Lead will be responsible for leading a team of Product Engineers supporting the TiNi product line(s) and the following:

  • Driving and supporting execution of the Product Engineering team's projects in all areas: mentoring and leading implementation of lean manufacturing processes, advocating for design for manufacturability, and supporting risk assessments and mitigation plans, leading on-time TDP creation and review, participating in design reviews, participating in bid and proposal activities, leading problem solving and failure investigations
  • Supporting Development Engineering/Operation group in new product development
  • Managing the successful transition of new products and technology into the production area
  • Supporting tool / fixture design and improvements
  • Working with the Value Stream Manager to assign and prioritize work when necessary
  • Driving continuous improvement activities such as standard work Kaizen
  • Supporting customer interface activities, problem resolution, and employee relations
  • Managing and growing your team's talent and capabilities to align with current and future company needs
  • Communicating effectively and hold team accountable for tasks and project completion
  • Facilitating a successful team-based organization

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a BS in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering and a minimum 3 years of project, manufacturing or related engineering experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical/electromechanical assemblies. Additionally, it's desired that the candidate has experience in the following area:

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs, projects, and individuals
  • Experience in managing and inspiring individuals, assigning tasks and managing progress, and developing individuals
  • Experience in new product integration. Excels in a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and failure investigation
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical problems
  • The candidate must have excellent writing and verbal communications skills
  • Design and application of electromechanical actuators
  • Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and systems
  • Strong experience in SolidWorks is required. Must be capable of generating CAD files for components, assemblies, and drawings.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T
  • Experience in combining electromechanical components, electronics and computer control for automated test and process control
  • Experience with the design of tools and fixtures for environmental testing of space components
  • Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques
  • Established project management skills with the ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Experience in low volume high mix, developmental level procurement in a collaborative, fast paced, team environment
  • Experience in working with Aerospace products and processes
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices and in-depth understanding ERP/MRP planning systems
  • Strong skills in MS Windows - Excel, Word and Power-point. Familiar with and able to work in MS Project.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
