Position Overview


Primary Purpose of Position
This is a non-tenure-track and year-to-year appointment. We thus look for applicants that have a demonstrated track record in analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry, biochemistry, or related disciplines. The selected candidate will be annually subjected to satisfactory performance, availability of resources and the need.

The research associate will aid the PI in completing research and training activities in analytical and environmental chemistry. The research associate will function with substantial independence to support research activities in the areas of PFAS remediation and analysis, emerging contaminants identification and quantification, etc. in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering in the College of Engineering at the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit

Minimum Requirements
1. A Ph.D degree awarded in the recent five years, in analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry, biochemistry or related disciplines.
2. A strong theoretical and experimental background with evidence of skills on environmental analytical chemistry.
3. The candidate is expected to have good skills in writing scientific papers and technical reports.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
1. Previous experience as a postdoctoral scholar.
2. Exceptional publication record.
3. Experience with Ion Mobility QTOF MS and PFAS analysis, etc.
Required License or Certification
Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site)
