Your Role at Baxter

Responsible for performing predictive/preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and improving all equipment and systems associated with the facility.

Your Team

Cleveland's technology and automation is cutting edge. It is the U.S. sole source for plastic pour bottles, glass IV, and various reconstitution devices. This facility produces a number of major product lines with a diverse array of automated manufacturing technologies ranging from bottle solution filling, injection molding, tubing extrusion, and device assembly.

What you'll be doing
  • Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment on a routine basis.
  • Perform predictive maintenance routes and analysis for the plant which may include:
  • Vibration Analysis
  • Infrared Analysis
  • Steam Trap Analysis
  • Leak Detection
  • Oil Analysis
  • May assist in maintaining operating building components, electrical systems, Boiler Room systems, plant utilities and HVAC systems.
  • Requires some familiarity with generally accepted building, plumbing, electrical and fire protection practices and codes.
  • Must be familiar with plant SOPs and Corporate Specifications governing operations of equipment, critical systems and GMP practices.
  • Must perform all documentation that is required.
  • Must be able to interact with Management, Engineers, and Contractors.
  • Coordinate daily work schedules with supervision.
  • Must be able to assume a lead role in the department.
  • Must work well independently as well as with teams.
  • 24 hour on call availability.
  • Must be contact person for questions regarding breakdowns and repairs.
  • Must be familiar with machine shop equipment including lathes and milling machines.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to diagnose electrical/mechanical equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of both plant and department environmental health and safety regulations and comply with said regulations accordingly.
  • Candidates must meet visual acuity requirements as documented in Baxter Cleveland Human Resources Procedure 1.04.
  • Must perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Must perform and lead special projects.
What you'll bring
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Must have 5 years or more of general industrial maintenance experience.
  • Have low absenteeism record.
  • Able to formulate plans to solve problems.
  • Have leadership capabilities.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment, e.g., volt-ohm meter, ammeter, megohmmeter.
  • Electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment and system functions.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $56,000 - $77,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than that of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. *Due to the nature of this position, the ability to work most holidays, some weekends and plant shut down periods is required.
