Purpose and Scope:

Primary responsibility is to function as a Maintenance and Facilities Manager, with overall responsibility for the site maintenance/facilities team, program, & systems. The Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Planning roles report directly to this position. The role will ensure that business objectives are met in the areas of team development, machine uptime, parts inventory, & maintenance program specific KPI's. The role will partner with engineering and operations peers to ensure the plant runs continuously in a 24/5 environment.

Safety Expectations:

Responsible for department & company safety goals. Lead by example. Be a positive safety role model. Responsible for training all department employees on safe work practices and policies. Responsible for ensuring an organized, clean and safe work environment. Ensure procedures and work practices have appropriate safety review and that new equipment meets all safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Support, Coach, & Develop people at all levels within the department.

  • Provide training & development needed to excel.
  • Develop systems to drive accountability.
  • Cross-train and provide stretch assignments for future growth.

Meet or exceed O.E.E. goals by ensuring equipment is proactively maintained and in top working order. Develop, maintain, and execute elements of a comprehensive maintenance program. Develop and maintain department KPI's. Provide regular updates to the business on progress. Lead and support multiple projects. Project ownership includes capital funding requests through implementation. Establish, track, and maintain budgets for functional areas. Develop strong relationships with peer group (operations, engineering, electrical) to provide cross-functional leadership & direction. Continuously improve the department by utilizing lean, six-sigma tools. Participate in AMS (Apogee Management System) process. Evolve maintenance program and techniques to utilize the latest in preventative and predictive maintenance tools (Augury). Maintain and fully utilize maintenance software (iMaint). Ensure maintenance coverage is provided on a 24/5 basis (and other hours as needed). Lead troubleshooting efforts and direct resources as required to solve problems.

Education and Experience: (minimum requirements)

Bachelor's degree required. Proven direct leadership experience. Minimum of 8-10 years in technical leadership within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated leadership, maintenance program building, communication, and team building skills. Robot/Automation knowledge is preferred. Proven proactive preventative and predictive maintenance experience and results. Demonstrated ability in mechanical and electrical trouble shooting and repair. Specific knowledge of Lean Maintenance and/or Production, Six Sigma, and TPM systems preferred. Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technology types.

This job is primarily performed in a plant environment, near electrical and mechanical equipment. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud.
