The Plant Manager is responsible for serving external and internal customers by creating and maintaining a safe, reliable operation capable of meeting quality and productivity targets. The Plant Manager will work with the management team to make H. B. Fuller a great place to work, where employees are engaged and have the opportunity for career growth. As the senior representative at the location, the Plant manager is expected to be the voice of the company and effectively communicate the company's positions and decisions on a timely basis.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage 5-6 direct reports and 70+ indirect employees in the plant and distribution

  • Drive a robust EHS culture with 'Safety as a Value.'

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental procedures, regulations, and rules.

  • Drive continuous improvement in Housekeeping and 5S+1.

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to achieve necessary schedule attainment goals.

  • Control plant spend against operational and capital budgets.

  • Team up with Supply Chain to determine facility headcount.

  • Continue to develop / enhance Houston's maintenance and reliability program.

  • Participate in weekly Operations Leadership call and offer solutions to common issues.

  • Lead monthly North America BE&I Operations review

  • Guide site leadership team in recruiting, hiring, developing and terminating activities.

  • Groom and mentor potential successors for plant and operations leadership roles across the network.

  • Ensure timely and data driven corrective actions.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Commercial, Finance, HR, Marketing, Operations, Product Management & Marketing, and Supply Chain.

  • Prioritize work to effectively focus on critical items and deliver quality results by deadline.

  • Lead significant change for the facility to support significant sales growth in the region.

  • Effectively communicate throughout the organization the overall GBU strategy.

  • Support New Product Introduction / scale-up and raw material acquisition.

  • Administer merit pay programs within the provided guidelines.

  • Hear and address employee concerns appropriately in partnership with HR.

Minimum Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in a Technical discipline

  • 3 years' experience leading a manufacturing operation as site leader

  • 10 years' experience in batch manufacturing

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing significant change within a manufacturing operating environment

  • Demonstrated success in organizational development and team building

  • Experience managing large and small capital projects

  • Proficiency in Quality Management Systems with demonstrated results

Preferred Requirements

  • MBA

  • PSM experience

  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP database management systems

  • Six Sigma certification - Green or Black Belt

  • LEAN certification

  • Experience in distribution & warehouse operations

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $143,000 - $172,000.

In addition to your salary, H.B. Fuller offers employees a competitive total rewards package including comprehensive benefits, incentive and recognitions programs, health & wellness benefits, 401K contributions, paid time off and paid holidays. Eligibility may vary.
