JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Clinical Affiliations is responsible for nurturing the institution's relationships with our community partners and leading the clinical education network of the Doisy College of Health Sciences. This position is responsible for building a culture of commitment to clinical education of students and for maintaining and enhancing the existing college and program affiliation partnerships. This position also serves as the point of contact for various internal (college and university administrators, faculty, staff, program faculty with clinical affiliation responsibilities, students) and external constituents (including clinical education sites, preceptors) for all college and program clinical education related efforts.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains existing community partnerships through ensuring effective partner engagement, active agreements, and active sites; supports the college's programs to increase and grow their network of clinical partners

  • Maintains a system of tracking mechanisms, processing contracts, and ensuring timely update of affiliation contracts and setting up of affiliation sites using the college systems

  • Implements process improvement efforts and promotes program and partner compliance with institutional requirements, accreditation commitments and college guidelines

  • Develops and maintains effective college level communication to constituents regarding clinical education efforts, policies, and initiatives; visits clinical affiliation sites and meets regularly with clinical education faculty

  • Collaborates with existing University services/resources (e.g., Student Health Center, Human Resource) to centralize onboarding procedures (e.g., background checks, TB tests) to eliminate duplication of efforts by individual programs

  • Serves as the chair of the Doisy College of Health Sciences Practicum/Affiliations Committee; service on committees as assigned by the Dean

  • Works with constituents, faculty, and administrators to develop and provide non-compensatory benefits for clinical educators and preceptors (e.g., IT and Library Services for library access)

  • Develops and implements strategy to solicit and support clinical affiliations and programs

  • Prepares monthly status reports for the Dean of current and proposed affiliation agreements

  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Five years of community relations, partnership development/management, or closely related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree

  • Eight years of community relations, partnership development/management, or closely related experience

  • Previous experience working in an academic and/or healthcare setting

  • Previous supervisory or management responsibility
