Unit Mgr, Graduate MedEd Odessa 39145BR Position Description Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes, and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies, and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff. Major/Essential Functions The GME Unit Manager is responsible for the overall management of the operations of the Graduate Medical Education department within the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in the Permian Basin School of Medicine. This role ensures the effective operation of GME programs, including managing personnel and operational processes for residents, fellows, and program leadership. The Unit Manager serves as a key point of contact between GME programs, faculty, external stakeholders, and hospital leadership. Key Responsibilities: Skills: o Demonstrated leadership in managing complex operational tasks and multi-disciplinary teams. o Strong knowledge of operational activities, and ability to apply regulatory compliance and accreditation processes. o Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to independently research issues, analyze data, and make informed recommendations. o Proven commitment to delivering high-quality work and exceeding expectations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus three years of supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.
