The Liu Lab or QSAI (Quantum Secure Artificial Intelligence) group, at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Computing, Department of Computer Science seeks a highly motivated individual to contribute to research in the area of quantum computing, machine learning and quantum security. The project will broadly focus on the following aspects:

-Designing quantum computer systems and architectures for fault-tolerant quantum computing;

-Developing quantum machine learning systems and applications;

-Investigating quantum security, quantum cryptography and post-quantum cryptography.

This is position is for one-year in length as a full-time post-doctoral scholar outside of the tenure stream with a possibility of extension dependent on funding and candidate's performance. The position offers the opportunity to work in a high-quality research environment with a strong diversity of projects. This position is housed in the Department of Computer Science, which has a long-standing tradition of providing a stimulating learning and research environment.

Required Qualifications

o PhD degree in computer science, physics, applied mathematics or a relevant field is required.

o Demonstrated experience in quantum computing and related algorithm and software development is required.

Preferred Qualifications

o Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team contributing to an active intellectual environment.

o Excellent written and oral communication skills.
