Role and Responsibilities

The Data Engineering Lead will play a critical role in driving innovation and growth for the Banking Solutions business. As a Data Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in our Data and Analytics platform team to install and run our cutting-edge data and analytics platforms. You will be responsible for implementing high-quality data solutions that meet our business objectives and exceed user expectations. Your technical expertise and strategic vision will drive the success of our Data and Analytics projects and contribute to the overall growth of our company.

Charter

  • Lead the development of robust and scalable Data and Analytics solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.

  • Implement high-quality codebase using cloud based DBaaS and application Technolgies.

  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to provide data science and analytics expertise.

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions and drive product innovation.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in development processes, code quality, performance optimization, and software architecture.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in the data and analytics space, evaluate new technologies/tools, and make informed recommendations for adoption.

  • Participate in cross-functional meetings, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Champion a culture of innovation, creativity, and excellence within the data platform team, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on data and analytics topics, provide technical guidance to stakeholders, and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing efforts.

Professional Qualifications

  • Strong preference for work on technology transition from on premise Oracle to cloud based data platforms on AWS

  • Strong proficiency in standing up and running data and analytics tools such as Celebrus, Quantum Metrics, Tealium, etc.

  • Experience in developing complex, high-performance analytics applications with a focus on user experience, performance, and scalability.

  • Knowledge of modern software development practices such as Agile methodologies, continuous integration, and test-driven development (TDD).

  • Familiarity with data modeling principles, design guidelines, and design techniques.

  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and leverage new technologies, tools, and techniques to solve complex technical challenges and improve development processes.

  • Experience with performance optimization, memory management, and debugging tools to ensure smooth and efficient operation.

  • Proactive in identifying potential issues, proposing solutions, and driving continuous improvement in code quality, performance, and best practices.

  • Experience developing engineering applications for a large corporation.

  • Demonstrated project development and leadership skills.

  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures

  • Preferred degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar relevant field preferred

  • Deep understanding and commitment to software engineering principles and processes (e.g., Lean, Agile, DevOps) and continuous improvement through measurement.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $131,290.00 - $220,600.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
