Job Duties
Reporting directly to the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing & Sales, the individual serving in this position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

- Directly supervise and coordinate the ECU cheerleading squads and activities relating to the cheerleading program.
- Directly supervise and coordinate the ECU mascots program and activities related to the mascots. This includes development of individuals to standards of established mascot personality, signature moves and performance expectations, costume management and appropriate number of students to be able to meet game and appearance expectations.
- Coordinate and implement fundraisers to reach established revenue goals in support of cheer squad and mascot program. (e.g. cheer competition/clinic)
- Coordinate and work with dance team coach related to game day involvement and activities. Provide assistance to dance team, as needed, for administrative/management needs.
- Coordinate and work with the Director of Athletic Bands related to game day involvement and activities.
- Maintain proper safety standards for cheerleading at, or above, stated guidelines.
- Work with the ECU Sports Medicine Division to ensure compliance with all medical practices and standards as they relate to the cheerleading squad.
- Utilize proper fiscal management and work within stated budget guidelines.
- Coordinate the cheerleaders' travel arrangements working with appropriate athletic department staff, and marching band director as needed.
- Supply list of cheerleaders' names to ticket office within stated guidelines/deadlines as needed for proper ticket distribution to parents of cheerleaders.
- As leader of cheerleading program represent, and ensure the cheerleading squad represents the university in a manner that will reflect positively upon the athletic department and institution.
- Organize and conduct annual tryouts in a timely fashion according to the athletics department policies and procedures for cheer squad and mascot program.
- Appear at special events as requested and assume other duties as assigned.
- Perform duties with professional conduct representing the university and athletics department and provide leadership cultivating an environment of compliance, performance excellence, respect, and student-athlete well-being.
- Comply with all applicable laws, policies, by-laws, regulations, procedures and guidelines of North Carolina, University of North Carolina system, East Carolina University, the Department of Athletics, the National Collegiate Athletic Association ( NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations.
-Build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with athletics, Pirate Club and University staff, students, and all constituencies and stakeholders.
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution required. Must have collegiate cheerleading coaching experience.

Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
None
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Division I cheerleading coaching experience preferred.
