Own Your Future. Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Data Fusion Engineer at NAS Patuxent River, MD. The Data Fusion Team is currently defining requirements from a platform level (with multi-platform in mind) and flow down through derived requirements to the various component levels. This requires constant interfacing with various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) within the PMA as well as outside entities. Current task is taking the top-level requirements that were formed by referencing Design Reference Missions (DRMs) and work with engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from IPTs and others to derive lower-level requirements along with verification methods. Responsibilities * Future work will be making sure requirements do not have gaps, verification methods are satisfactory with labs/equipment in place, and requirements are being maintained properly. Any requirements updates will be documented, and system engineering done to make sure that change flows up and down the requirements chain. * The Data Fusion Team is currently building a Data Fusion Evaluation Tool to use for data fusion system comparisons and assessments. The tool is being built in AFSIM by a contractor. Tasks include tracking progress of the tool build up, assessing model needs, interacting with SMEs and facilitating group collaboration. Other tasks are reviewing of deliverables and providing needed input of metric enhancements. * Future work will be using the tool, identifying metric deficiencies and correcting, and helping with follow on contract actions. There will be a need to ensure vendor(s) of data fusion systems are able to implement their system within the tool (e.g. correct interfacing with the tool). * Data Fusion is currently looking to integrate a new data fusion system on to a platform. Current tasking is to interface with vendors, determine engineering needs for the data fusion system and setting up engineering reviews as needed. Artifacts for these reviews must be identified and worked with different organizations. Other tasks involve help with determining schedules and holding the teams to those schedules and assisting in providing details to the various IPTs within and outside of the organizations. * Future work includes overseeing of modification efforts by vendors on the new data fusion system, ensuring that verification methods are accomplished, and results are favorable, and assessing risk based on data. There will be oversight of modifications and prioritizing of work. There will be interfacing with integration efforts and helping in holding integration Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs). Beyond that will be overseeing integration testing, and flight testing with the Test & Evaluation community. Qualifications * Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or Business related field from an accredited college or university. Experience cannot be substituted for education. * Candidate must have experience in leading requirements generation. Previous experience with software integration OR data fusion algorithms OR signal processing is a must, and previous experience with modeling and simulation is desired. * Person must be able to cope with change and shift gears comfortably. * Person must be able to represent their own interests and yet be fair to other groups and find common ground for the good of all. * Person must be able to make good decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgement. Clearance Requirement: A current SSBI or Federal Investigative Standard Tier 5 (T5) or Tier 5 Reinvestigation (T5R) within the last 5 years. A final DoD Top Secret clearance. Eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) in accordance with Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 704 and Special Access Program (SAP) in accordance with SAP Nomination Policy (SAPNP) with no disqualifying security issues that will deem a candidate ineligible for access.
