Responsibilities We currently have a great opportunity available for a Laboratory Clinical Consultant. The Laboratory Clinical Consultant (LCC) is part of a multidisciplinary team that supports our customers throughout the entire life cycle of our products. This includes pre-sale side-by-side instrument evaluations and technical presentations as well as post-sale implementation activities, on-site instrument and workflow training and support. This role will be expected to enhance the understanding of strengths and features of Sysmex instruments and to point out the key differences between Sysmex vs. competitive systems to realize an efficient and successful customer experience. Also supports sales objectives by providing field technical support, serves as a technical consultant to existing and new customers, executes advanced training workshops, serves as the local resource for troubleshooting and resolving performance problems. This role serves as technical/process expert in specialized area(s), mentors others and supports the organization cross functionally as required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Implementations (Approximately 75%) a. Conduct analyzer implementations as needed for hematology and urinalysis product lines. This includes performing method verification studies, end user training, correlation studies and optimization activities leading to a successful go-live. b. Perform troubleshooting on issues related to reagent, middleware or instrument performance designed to improve customer self-sufficiency: Investigate problems; diagnose probable causes; systematically eliminate alternatives; provide solutions. Recognize and communicate product issues, complaints and potential improvements. c. Serves as technical expert in specialized area(s). Supports and mentors others as needed including escalations nationally. Expected to assist in creating means (training, tools, and documentation) to proactively share their knowledge across the organization. Handles very complex customers and situations such as commercial labs. Is required to work with all areas within Sysmex. d. Ensures approved validation testing protocols are followed and results accurately documented. e. Develop and implement training programs (workshops and onsite training) for customers to maintain desired levels of customer satisfaction and referenceability. f. Manage time, territory and accounts effectively; use computers to document activity; take initiative to make changes to improve how work is done, focus on process improvement; promote customer satisfaction; support sales objectives and organizational directives; provide data to the organization on customer use/preferences leading to customer driven design/customer usability. Responsible for identifying and communicating critical gaps, product issues, complaints, and recommend potential improvements to the installation and implementation process. Responsible for supporting the systems assigned to their territory and greater geography to meet business demands. Accomplish results individually and in collaboration on teams and work groups. g. Provide technical information to direct management/peers and other functional groups. Proactively address and support sales objectives and organizational directives. h. This individual must possess strong interpersonal, persuasive, problem solving and communication skills. The individual must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, can-do attitude and strong desire to set and achieve goals. i. Provide both pre-sale and post-sale support. Pre-sale support includes delivering technical presentations, support of Sysmex Express and instrument Demos, working trade shows, and performing evaluations as necessary. Post-sale support includes standard of work, capturing revenue through the ICN process, and customer retention activities to drive customer loyalty and satisfaction. 2. Pre-sale evaluations (Approximately 25%) j. The LCC is responsible for setting up optimal protocols to enhance the selection of Sysmex products through technical performance differentiation and demonstration of features and benefits. Analyze data according to the criteria set forth in the evaluation protocol or through a demo. The Consultant and Sales Account Manager will gather, organize and present this evaluation data in support with the account's evaluation team. k. Ensure that the instrumentation is functioning properly and optimized for an evaluation or demo as well as be responsible for collecting and saving all data that is generated during the demo/evaluation process. The Consultant will also be responsible for coordinating the evaluations in terms of resources needs and location preparation; however the primary responsibility for this part belongs to the sales team. l. Demonstrate an understanding of the competitive initiatives with pre-planned strategies in order to compete and win comparative Instruments. m. Ensure a timely turnaround of evaluation data. n. Assist regional and national sales team with closing sales in targeted market segments to meet annual revenue and unit placement goals. o. Participate in corporate programs such as VIPs, trade shows, national meetings, customer and distributor training as needed to meet portfolio objectives for product awareness and brand promotion. p. The individual must possess and consistently demonstrate strong interpersonal persuasive, problem solving and communication skills. 3. Complete administrative tasks such as expense reporting, monthly reports, territory and customer analysis, funnel analysis, forecasts, competitive intelligence, and annual planning. 4. Responsible for managing company assets and expenses within company guidelines. Other duties as requested. 5. Other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: Light physical effort. Routine handling of objects up to 20 pounds; prolonged (at least 50% of time) sitting, standing, keyboard or CRT work. May require periods of moderate discomfort due to noise, dust, lighting and/or other conditions. Percentage of Travel: Up to 90% Qualifications
