Director, IT Service Owner (Application Integration)

As the Director, IT Service Owner (Application Integration), you will be accountable for developing strategies, building technical architecture, developing product roadmap and leading software engineering teams to design, build and operate the service lifecycle for corporate application integration at Clarivate. You will build strong relationships that allow you to influence and drive business outcomes for key business partners and corporate functions. This role requires strong stakeholder management, excellent communication and leadership skills, and expertise in leveraging technology to deliver value.

About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science discipline (e.g., computer applications, information technology, or information science).

  • 5+ years of experience as a leader of leaders.

  • 10+ years of experience in IT service delivery, technology platform management, or software engineering with progressive responsibility and leadership in a corporate IT environment.

  • 3+ years of experience leading an application integration function.

  • 3+ years of experience managing API management software such as Apigee, MuleSoft, WSO2, or Kong.

  • 3+ years of experience managing API management software such as Apigee, MuleSoft, WSO2, or Kong.5+ years of experience design, building, and maintaining APIs.

  • 10+ years of experience leading technical teams who continuously deliver software via agile methods.

  • Proficient in quickly establishing relationships with executive stakeholders, vendors, and team members.

  • Led teams or directly used integration platform-as-a-service tools such as Boomi, MuleSoft, Workato, webMethods, or Informatica.

  • Experience integrating systems in a complex and diverse enterprise.

  • Worked in an environment with significant M&A activity.

  • Experience managing Solutions Architects, Solution Analysts, Software Engineers, and Project Managers.

  • A background in on-prem and cloud computing, networking, and storage.

  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.

  • Experience as a Product Manager or Engineering Manager.

  • Familiarity with source-to-pay, lead-to-cash, record-to-report, hire-to-retire, and other common key business processes.

  • Experience building and implementing microservice architectures and building cloud-native applications.

  • A strong understanding of integration architectures and their trade-offs.

  • Led cross-organizational change initiatives.

  • Experience building and managing continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.

  • An ITIL certification or strong understanding of IT Service Management processes, and experience leveraging them to deliver operational excellence.

  • Experience budgeting for complex projects and initiatives and planning annual product portfolio.

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

  • Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them successfully to completion.

  • Proven ability to translate complex business problems and technical concepts into actionable recommendations.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Planning, building, delivering, and running all application integration services.

  • Establishing the vision, strategy, and roadmap for your service.

  • Defining objectives and key results that are challenging and achievable, and developing, enacting, and delivering initiatives that deliver against your OKRs.

  • Building strong stakeholder relationships to manage stakeholder demand, expectations, and adoption for your service.

  • Managing personnel and non-personnel costs for your service -- including FTE headcount, outside services, all hardware/software licensing, and vendor, contract, and renewal management.

  • Building and leading a high-performing team through continuous improvement of people, process and technology. You will manage a team of approximately 25 and will foster a collaborative and innovative work environment for a global team in disparate locations across the globe.

  • Creating a culture of experimentation, forward thinking, collaboration, togetherness, and continuous improvement.

  • Managing and continuously improving the quality of your service using data and IT Service Management processes to drive operational excellence.

  • Proactively identifying, mitigating, and managing risks to your service, including, but not limited to security vulnerabilities, software licensing, technical currency, technical debt, security, and compliance.

  • Establishing, promoting, and enforcing application integration standards and best practices across the organization.

About the Team

The Shared Application Services team is a global team of 80 whose mission is to enable Clarivate's business to run efficiently by providing platforms, services, and practices that provide quality data, support decision making, produce insights, and integrate disparate systems. Our services are leveraged across all functions and all business segments within the company. We work in close collaboration with our business partners and IT counterparts in Sales, Finance, Marketing, HR, Professional Services, Customer Service, and other areas to provide high value and excellent service.

Hours of Work

  • Full time, permanent

  • Hybrid working model on-site 2 days/week

  • Must live within a commutable distance to our Philadelphia, PA or Overland Park, KS office location
