System Technician II

SUMMARY:

This position provides troubleshooting assistance and problem resolution for computer systems in a variety of environments. Assistance and resolution are provided for personal computers, mini/mainframe computers, client- servers as well Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and web pages.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Serve as a Virtual Battle Space (VBS) system support specialist providing games for training general support for all gaming applications and services.
• Support home station training using VBS, as needed, develop terrain, maps, and tailor scenarios to support the training.
• Provide systems administration support to all Gaming facilities in support of GFT operations, events, and exercises.
• Maintain Windows based workstations, replace computers, network, and systems within the VBS3 network.
• Provide on-site technical assistance, perform troubleshooting as required.
• Install software, image systems, conduct backup and recovery operations as needed.
• Develop and create attributes and models to extend the capability of VBS3.
• Assist Cybersecurity managers, secures data/devices.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver mission command integration and integrate requisite Live, Virtual, Constructive, Gaming, and Mission Command (LVCG-MC) systems in training environments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ years of experience with the US Army
• 4+ years of experience with leading Army training
• Experience with Virtual Battle Space (VBS) software
• Ability to develop and present briefings on complex subjects
• Security+, A+, or Network+ certification
• Experience with the US Army Reserve or Army National guard a plus
• Ability to analyze training plans and assemble supporting documentation
• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• HS diploma or GED
• AA or AS degree preferred
