Overview

The Lab Technician provides support to the quality department by inspecting products at various stages of the manufacturing process. Ensures that products comply with customer requirements.



Responsibilities

    Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or standards to inspect product throughout manufacturing processes to determine if it is fit for conformance or customer requirements. This can include dimensional, attribute, performance, mechanical, or chemical characteristics.
  1. Supports calibration of tools and gages as required.
  2. Utilizes various types of measurement equipment required to evaluate product conformance (calipers, micrometers, gage pins, thread gages, etc.).
  3. Leads and/or supports gage R&R or related measurement system analysis activities as required.
  4. Assists with identifying and correcting quality issues.
  5. Assists in coordinating assigned quality assurance processes throughout all manufacturing operations.
  6. Performs first-piece inspections to requirements.
  7. Performs layered process audits and internal audits as scheduled.
  8. Performs dimensional layouts as required.
  9. Completes other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Job Skills Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of metal production and manufacturing, including cutting, forming, welding, and destruction testing.
  • Basic understanding of MSA (Measurement Statistical Analysis) interpretation and implementation.
  • Applied knowledge in PC-DMIS programing.
  • Ability to execute Full Part Layouts.
  • Calibration Experience (GAGETrak a plus).
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Experience Requirements

  • Three years of experience in manufacturing or engineering or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
