Accounts Payable Specialist

Primary Purpose Of Job

Performs the daily operations of Accounts Payable. Reviews invoices to determine proper accounting treatment and authorization to pay. Processes vendor payments via data entry within the Accounts Payable system. Abides by the policies and procedures relating to Accounts Payable.

Major Job Accountabilities

• Performs the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable function including, but not limited to, reviewing invoices for accuracy, proper documentation and approvals, and proper distribution of expenses.
• Works with specialized software for Accounts Payable including, but not limited to, invoice entry, vendor record maintenance, prepaid activity and payment adjustments.
• Serves as a resource to bank personnel on the application of accounts payable and reporting principles.
• Advises vendors on Accounts Payable matters.

Experience Required

Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in accounts payable.

Required Skills Or Training

• Work experience on PC based accounts payable and procurement/payment workflow systems.
• Work experience with high volume data entry.
• Excellent personal computer skills with experience in Excel (intermediate level) and Word (intermediate level).
• Detail oriented and ability to enter data quickly and accurately.
• Able to meet deadlines and perform tasks in accordance with established procedures.
• Ability to communicate with bank teammates to determine and advise on proper expense reporting requirements.
• Ability to communicate with vendors on billing and payment matters.
