Job Summary:
The AW609 is destined to be the world's first civil certified tilt rotor aircraft.
This employee will act as the main interface between Leonardo and the supplier for new product developments on this cutting-edge program. From contract award, through design, testing, qualification and certification your role will be to coordinate the technical and commercial program both internally and with suppliers.
This employee will be exposed to many departments and levels of Leonardo's business and the businesses of suppliers, and you will gain a broad understanding of modern aircraft development programs.
Summary of Position: (Brief description of overall responsibilities and function)
This role is the bridge between Procurement & Supply Chain Management and Engineering/Ops/PM/CS&T departments. The purpose of the position is to identify, manage and protect program requirements for suppliers, i.e. scope of work, time, cost and quality, acting as primary interface of Procurement & Supply Chain organization towards Supplier/Engineering/Ops/Program Management and CS&T, from development up to industrialization, certification, production and support phases of a program life cycle. The PPS project manages all program related procurement activities, facilitates procurement activities making sure that all needed stakeholders' dependencies are managed in a timely manner.
The AW609 PPS will also perform the duties of a senior buyer for aircraft material POs, in addition to POs for significant supplier NRC activities (such as FAA qualification of new tilt-rotor systems and equipment). Negotiates supplier agreements and pricing, as well as interpreting and enforcing contract terms and conditions.

Identify and project manage key requirements towards Supply Chain for new development initiatives and in support of proposals/quotations addressing business opportunities. This includes for new equipment and systems on the AW609, the world's first tilt-rotor civil certification with the FAA. Challenge and negotiate/agree changes to requirements with supplier and internally with Engineering, Ops, PM and CS&T as appropriate. Evaluate and negotiate the associated NRC elements and material costs, as well as scheduling and lead time. Project manage the NRC PO with supplier and internal stakeholders through to receipt and approval of agreed deliverable (eg. FAA certification reports). |

As senior buyer: review and act on purchase requisitions for new buy and repair of AW609 aircraft parts and place POs. These will often be first time, low rate, low maturity purchases which will necessitate the need to negotiate and establish relevant terms, price and lead time with suppliers. |

Perform follow up of contracts to monitor and ensure proper implementation/execution and adherence to the relevant requirements, securing that all milestone deliverables and costs contracted meet and reflect the overall program time plan with specific reference to the AW609 Vendor Development and qualification plan. |

Intercept and evaluate delays, extra costs and any modification of program requirements that affect supply chain and could require amendment to existing commitments. Negotiate, upon delegation and supported by the relevant Purchasing unit if necessary, those amendments aiming to reduce impact of modifications on schedule and costs. |

- Qualifications for Position:
A. Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or relevant field is required as a minimum. PMP is preferable. |
B. Experience
- 3+ years minimum relevant experience in the Aerospace industry .
- Knowledge and experience of aircraft certification processes is preferable.
- Experience of complex supply chains across a range of parts and services.
- Ability to establish credibility with business counterparts.
- Demonstrated success in developing and managing procurement project plans and following through to successful completion.
- Data manipulation and cost analysis
- Demonstrated experience with global activities, which include negotiating, budgeting, planning and reporting.
- Team leadership experience.
- Working knowledge and/or experience in maintaining positive relationships
whilst stressing performance. |
C. Competencies & Attributes
- Program Management for procurement NRC, including qualification of new equipment and systems (up to $15m NRC per supplier). Ability to understand and develop program plans and perform critical path analysis/management. Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams/meetings to resolve any issues and manage risks to deliver a successful outcome.
