RN Peri-Op 101 OR Training Program Full Time March 2025
POSITION SUMMARY:
To fulfill the needs of patients in a variety of age groups, their family members, and the community by performing varied Peri-Operative patient care tasks and functions during the pre-, inter-, and post-operative process and surgical experience in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. To respond effectively to new and changing working environments. To bear the primary responsibility and accountability for the Peri-Operative nursing care that the patient receives in the Operating Room setting. At least 1 year of nursing experience is required. Med-Surg experience preferred. This program will begin in March 2025. Once the extensive orientation phase is completed, this will be an EVENING position. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to an Evening Shift position once the orientation is completed.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor`s degree in Nursing required. Current/valid State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing. CPR certifications.
EXPERIENCE:
Computer and keyboard skills preferred. Medical terminology preferred. Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical Nursing experience preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Current State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing). CNOR Certification preferred. Completion of General Nursing Orientation, CPR Certification, IV Certification and Unit Based Orientation, which includes the appropriate age and development of the patient population served on the Unit. Demonstrates effective interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills. Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environment related to changing patient needs, including working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes, and those who are dying. Ability to work cooperatively with health-system, patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e., physicians, Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Lab, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to use analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively problem-solve.
