REQUISITION SUMMARY

Do you want to influence PACCAR's plan for the global energy transition? Are you passionate about trucks and have experience with how they are engineered and used? If so, then a career in PACCAR's Global Powertrain Division as a Product Planner is for you!

Within this team of highly talented strategic thinkers, you will find yourself researching, planning, and defining the product roadmap for PACCAR's worldwide ICE and EV powertrain products.This position will take a global approach and requires collaboration within a diverse cross-functional and multicultural team. PACCAR is eager to advance its product line of internal combustion and zero emissions powertrains, and this is a chance to take a lead role in defining that plan. You will be a key part of ensuring PACCAR products not only meet the needs of customers but also those of the climate.

This position is located at PACCAR's Lewisville, Texas office near Dallas and includes the opportunity to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to a greener transportation system by planning heavy and medium-duty powertrain offerings through the energy transition
  • Develop the PACCAR global powertrain product plan through the investigation and documentation of market specific + environmental needs
  • Investigateand document the need of existing and futurecustomer expectations for PACCAR's worldwide powertrain products
  • Receive organizational alignment on responsible Product Plan while providing regular written and verbal updates to local and global key stakeholder
  • Compile and maintain information on competitive developments, technology trends, and market direction. Identify potential disruptive developments and suggest appropriate responses
  • Define and document customer and regulatory requirements in a format that promotes creative and disruptive solutions from the engineering teams
  • Support business case development and project initiation
  • Provide continued support to project teams as they define technical requirements and evaluate solution concepts
  • Provide written and verbal updates to local and global key stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS& SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field required
  • 8+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Customer-facing experiencesuch as sales, marketing, or directly eliciting product requirements; preferably in trucking or freight movement
  • Understanding of medium and/or heavy-duty commercial vehicle powertrain applications, specifications, and performance
  • Experience with a design-thinking process (double-diamond process, Human Centered Design, etc)
  • Experience documenting product or technical requirements
  • Experience with developing business cases, or developing financial arguments for new initiatives
  • Comfortable proposing radical ideas and challenging the status quo, able to influence others to achieve a desired outcome
  • Excellent work/time management and organizational skills
  • Self-directed and resourceful with excellent analysis and engineering judgment
  • Fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment by considering other perspectives and is ok being challenged
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, while managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. Spanish and Portuguese verbal skills a plus
