Note: This is a remote position with travel (75%+) to support projects. The candidate must reside in or be open to relocation to Northern California.

Overview:

As a critical member of our team, you will play a vital role in optimizing and supporting our complex communication systems. Your responsibilities will include providing technical support for specialized systems and product applications, troubleshooting software-driven electronics, provisioning communication system infrastructure, and optimizing the performance of RF and Broadband architecture. This includes working with legacy analog systems, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure.

You will be expected to program, configure, optimize, test, and document complex communication systems. Additionally, you will provide weekly reports on your activities and accomplishments.

A strong knowledge of wired communication systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide-area networks (WAN), is essential. Proficiency in computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance-covering cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges-is required. You must also be capable of installing server hardware, operating systems, and software infrastructure and troubleshooting to resolve system and application-related issues.

Candidates should have proven experience in leading small teams through challenging situations.

  • Must know about R.F. systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks

  • Must know about standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet-switching techniques

  • Must be highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access

  • Must have self-management solid skills and "people" skills to work closely with customers and subcontractor (MSS) community, as well as sales, engineering, project management, and customer service teams

  • Must be self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision

  • Must be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations

Duties may also include:

  • Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper systemoperation with a focus on trend analysis and documentation of results

  • Develop solutions to complex technical problems encountered as part ofsystem implementation, upgrades, or support issuesfamiliar with the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques

  • Team with engineering, project management, and sales personnel to effectively design, implement, optimize, and cutover advanced communication systems that meet or exceed customer expectations

Required Skills:

  • Must possess CET Master, Associate, or appropriate certifications for their role.

  • Experience configuring, maintaining, testing, and optimizing two-way radio subscribers and infrastructure.

  • Training and extensive experience configuring and testing computer networking equipment (routers, hubs, switches, etc.).

  • Must possess current CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with logging recording systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communications systems, and/or networking equipment

  • Unique combinations of multi-site RF communications systems and/or computer/networking skills are required.

  • Systems experience and have a minimum of 5 years of related experience with the following equipment:

  • Centracom Consoles

  • Channel Banks and T1 Circuits

  • Computer IP Networks and Configuration

  • Experience working with RF Infrastructure Technologies

  • Skills in the use of various communications test equipment, including:

  • Communication System Analyzers

  • Ethernet Link test sets

  • T1 Test Sets

  • TIMS (Transmission Impairment Measurement Set)

  • Digital RF Power Meter

  • Experience with one or more of the following: Motorola Conventional, SmartNet, Centracom, and MCC Console systems, Secure Operations, and ASTRO A7.x Digital systems and installation procedures.

Note: This is a remote position with travel (75%+) to support projects. The candi date MUST reside in or be open to relocation to Northern California.

**Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer**

The approx. base salary range for this position in California is $57,400.00 - $100,000.00, depending on experience.
