Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a Lab Operations Associate to keep our labs running safely and efficiently.This role reports into our Lab Operations Manager. As part of our "Lab Ops" team, you will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our lab spaces in multiple facilities in partnership with our Facilities and Warehouse teams. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!

What you'll do:
  • Perform routine tasks to keep the lab spaces clean and safe including ordering and restocking lab supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), inspecting lab safety equipment, managing gas cylinders and personal gas monitors, among other tasks.

  • Support lab users with troubleshooting of lab equipment such as pumps, vacuums, water filtration units, and portable exhaust units by coordinating with the Facilities team or outside vendors

  • Communicate with outside vendors for deliveries or service visits, keeping the vendors and lab users safe during any on-site work

  • Collaborate with the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Facilities teams to ensure safe installation of lab furnishings and equipment

  • Support Lab Ops team organization by keeping records of lab equipment troubleshooting and maintenance, consumable purchasing, and request tracking using cloud-based softwares

What you'll bring:
  • Prior experience working in a lab environment preferred, including familiarity with chemical hygiene, lab safety best practices, lab consumables, basic PPE, and general lab equipment

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lb

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills

  • Experience with Google Apps, Slack, or other cloud-based software

  • "Can do" attitude, creative problem solving, and a willingness to learn new skills

  • Familiarity with lift-assist devices, drum dollies, and gas cylinder dollies a plus
