Location:Gulf Coast Medical Center -13681 Doctor's WayFort Myers FL 33912 Department: Trauma Surgeons Work Type: Full Time Shift: Shift 1/8:00:00 AM to 4:30:00 PM Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$20.04 - $25.05 / hour SummaryTrauma Registrars primary responsibility is to assure that complete and accurate data is collected and maintained for all trauma patients diagnosed and/or treated at Lee Health Trauma Center. The Trauma Registrar must work with all trauma-related departments within the system to ensure complete inclusion of all appropriate patients. Job Responsibilities: Provides ongoing patient tracking, concurrent and retrospective chart abstracting, and data entry of trauma service patients into the trauma registry data bank. Collects trauma data for presentation, injury research, epidemiology, quality improvement and State / National database reports. The data will be obtained from trauma service activity, logs computer databases, and trauma patient charts. Assists Trauma Program Manager in preparing for Multidisciplinary Trauma meetings. Assists with the preparation of ongoing statistical reports and developing specialized reports as required or assigned. Participates in trauma research as appropriate. Serves as a liaison between the trauma service and related departments. Accurately fill all data points in the Trauma One database or current trauma registry software. Assists the TPM in preparation for program-related projects. Assists with DNV/State survey preparations/projects. Collects, prepares and analyzes data for various statistical reports and for special projects as directed by the TMD/TPM. Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements. Administratively supports other management as necessary. Collects and inputs information of all patients injuries, as evidence by the hospital record, autopsy, EMS run data and transferring facility data. Assists in the identification of quality management/performance improvement related issues encountered during record abstraction. Accurately codes medical information using ICD-10-CM, AIS, ISS and other appropriate coding schemes. Supports the Trauma Program Manager in maintaining organized and timely responses in daily activities throughout the area of responsibility. Tracks project deadlines. Records minutes of trauma program meetings. RequirementsEducation:High School Diploma required. One year of formal training beyond high school, completion of HIM program preferred. Experience:Minimum of two years of HIM and/or CPC/RHIT experience required. Certification:Trauma Registrar Certification within two years from date of employment. License:N/A Other:Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Anatomy. Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of EPIC and Trauma One preferred. US:FL:Fort Myers |
