Overview

LMI is seeking a Technical Communications Specialist with a Secret clearance and a minimum three years of experience to provide technical writing and communications support for the Product Manager (PdM) Army Training Information System (ATIS).

Responsibilities

    Create and execute effective communication strategies to support client mission and priorities.
  • Provide communications services to convey, promote, and disseminate information to stakeholders related to ongoing and future initiatives under tight deadlines.
  • Support the creation of social media and strategic communications content.
  • Write high-impact documentation for all parts of the DevOps, Application, Data Science, and Data Engineering lifecycle, including deployment and configuration guidance for IT and DevOps engineers, user guidance for data scientists and data engineers, API and command references, tutorials, walkthroughs, sample apps, and best practices guides.
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers to develop effective, user-focused documentation such as release notes, test plans, user guides, other user adoption documentation.
  • Use communication strategies to drive adoption of new technology or programs.
  • Convey, promote, and disseminate various materials related to the organization's priorities and initiatives.
  • Edit content for technical accuracy, grammar, usage, adherence to style, and fit in information architecture.
  • Define processes for writing internal documentation (guides, architectural overviews, training materials, API references, etc) across the program.
  • Work with the Technical Advisory Group and Product Managers to ensure all components of the software development lifecycle are well-documented and easily understood.
  • Advise the program office leadership on communications to internal team members, higher headquarters, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Plan and execute information and promotional campaigns.
  • Ensure material conforms to customer's standards for style, content, and format.
  • Support the development of senior level presentations.


Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • DoD SECRET clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of related experience.
  • Expertise in creating technical documentation for internal engineering teams and system users.
  • Expertise in communications principles, methods, practices, and techniques, including skill in presenting ideas in speech and in written form to inform and persuade audiences at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with documentation solutions (content management systems, wiki systems, full-text search, etc).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills (e.g., time management, communication, setting goals, delegation, working under pressure, self-motivation, analytical thinking, and attention to detail).
  • Proficiency in using AI to generate draft documentation to improve work efficiency.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Master's degree in a related technical discipline
  • Understanding of acquisition documentation IAW the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
  • Scaled Agile certification.
  • Exposure to Cloud technologies (ideally AWS).
  • Experience with DoD Architectural Framework documentation.
