Overview of Responsibilities: Ensures the stability, security, and reliability of MSGCU's networks for members, team members, and other stakeholders by designing, planning, implementing, testing, measuring, and otherwise managing related hardware, software, interfaces, implementations, and projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures stability and reliability of MSGCU's wide area networks (WANs), local area networks (LANs/VLANs), wireless networks, virtual private networks (VPNs), telephone network (TeleCom) and storage area network (SAN), collectively "MSGCU's networks", through performance and security monitoring and proactive hardware, firmware, and software updates, etc.
- Ensures effective and secure integration of MSGCU's networks with third-party interfaces, cloud-based software as a service (SaaS), etc. by designing, planning, configuring, and implementing secure interfaces, hardware, and software.
- Ensures optimal uptime for members, team members, and other stakeholders by systematically measuring; proactively testing; reporting against service level agreements (SLAs); analyzing the nature and patterns of issues requiring troubleshooting; and developing immediate and longer-term resolutions for servers, physical and virtual, MSGCU's networks, third-party systems, and other related hardware and software.
- Ensures an appropriately high level of network security by developing and gaining approval of documented new processes that further enhance security. Executes and/or ensures execution of existing information security related policies, practices (e.g., system backups), and security audits that are proactively planned and carried out internally, as well as in response to internal and external security audits, examination reviews, etc.
- Ensures the effectiveness of MSGCU's business continuity (BC) and disaster recovery (DR) plans by researching, designing, implementing, reporting, and fully testing the technology, interfaces, processes, and procedures in order to best position MSGCU for a highly responsive recovery.
- Creates and maintains documentation of MSGCU network design and architecture framework using Microsoft Visio or similar programs.
- Serves as project lead, subject matter expert (SME), or project team member, as appropriate, for design engineering, implementations, migrations, testing, upgrades, etc.
- Develops network planning policies and procedures related to network systems, networking principles and practices, both in software and hardware infrastructures.

Essential Preparation and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration or related field the equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience; and
- 3 years of related experience including:
- Managing and administering networks including system design, planning, configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Configuring and supporting telephony and telecom systems, Cisco switches and routers, wireless networking, and network data backup systems.
- Network and IS security components, including Checkpoint Firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices.
- Working with security systems and implementation procedures inclusive of protocols and practices in the use of data integrity, protection, and fraud vulnerabilities in highly regulated settings, such as insurance, finance, healthcare, etc. Must be knowledgeable about current regulations regarding non-public information and privacy legislation.
- Certifications such as Network+, Security+, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, MCITP preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Office and branch location environment with little discomfort from noise, extreme temperature, dust, or other factors.
- Occasionally required to travel throughout MSGCU's service area as business needs require.
- Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, such as robbery. Receives detailed instructions and security procedures on an annual basis to minimize risk.
- This work involves sitting most of the time with brief periods of walking or standing and may occasionally require lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
- Normal working hours will be MSGCU's standard branch and administrative office hours of operation, however, occasional after-hours maintenance and flexibility to be on call before/after normal work hours, including weekends and holidays, is required.

- Base salary begins at $85,000 / year

- If you are at least 21 years old, you will receive a 3% contribution from MSGCU, and a 100% match for the next 7% you contribute to your 401(k)
