Employees in this class are responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Supervisor Monday thru Friday and independently supervising remedial and custodial services, minor maintenance, building operations and related services in University buildings or building complexes Monday through Friday.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-
- Supervises and trains staff in the performance of Housekeeping task in all areas of the University (Residence Halls, classrooms, offices, auditoriums, restrooms, public spaces and some outdoor areas.
- Evaluates, inspects and monitors Housekeeping staff performance.
- Performs all Housekeeping duties as needed filling in for staff members.
- Monitors the R25 system for University events and the SXU Service Request system on a daily basis.
- Trains staff on the use of and operates all Housekeeping equipment.
- Performs minor maintenance and repairs on Housekeeping on equipment.
- Inspects buildings for damage and reports conditions by submitting work orders.
- Requests and stocks disposable products such as soap, and paper towels.
- Moves furniture and other items in Residence Halls and University spaces by hand or using appropriate moving devices.
- Assigns staff members to and performs set-ups for other University functions.
- Inspects Housekeeping assigned closets and equipment checking for a neat, clean and safe working condition.
- Assigns staff and participates in the removal of snow and ice from stairways and walkways around buildings.
- Along with staff, salts stairways and walkways.

Qualifications
-
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), with minimum of three (3) years of janitorial, housekeeping, and/or building maintenance experience. One (1) year experience in a lead or supervisory capacity desirable.
