Job Description:

Materials Engineering Co-Op - Spring 2025

The Role:
The goal of this co-op will be to fully characterize, test, validate, and create a recommendation for sustainable materials options for Entegris products and packaging. Interaction with the product engineering teams to learn the key critical drivers to success for this material. Performing a full material search to find the best material candidates. Then working with the global supply team to bring materials in for testing and analysis. This role will allow for the ability to interact with multiple groups within and outside of the organization all to drive to the goal of finding the ideal solution to a technical material challenge. Playing a critical role in helping drive decisions to next generation materials decisions and the analysis performed.

In this role you will:

* Create and share a sustainable materials technical overview
* Learn how to use various pieces of analytical laboratory equipment including: TGA, DMA, DSC, and Rheometers
* Learning how material properties tie to product application needs and performance
* Successful evaluation of samples and material candidate prototypes
* Interactions with multiple groups both internal and external
* Learnings of the foundational requirements of materials needs for the Advanced Materials Handling Division
* Make data driven decisions based on hands on experience and analytical testing with the guidance of mentor/manager

You're a good fit if you have:

*Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
* Passion for sustainability
* Understanding of biobased, biodegradable, and compostable thermoplastic materials
* Project management
* Curiosity and independence
* Understanding of polymer materials
* Report writing

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:

* Material testing and characterization
* Ability to make data driven decisions based on analytical results
* Teamwork and collaboration with team and cross functional teams
* Attention to detail and accuracy in data and analytics

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:

* Materials Engineering Graduation Fall 2025 or later
* Polymer Science & Engineering Fall 2025 or later
* Chemical Engineering Fall 2025 or later
