R&D Customer Application Development Technician

Position Summary: Entegris is seeking a highly motivated Customer Application Development Technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are paramount. You will be a key player along with skilled experts on a dynamic Customer Application team whose objective is to provide support to customers, process, troubleshoot and development work. Responsibilities:
- Assist with/independently run different R&D test stands. Evaluate, inspect, maintain, design, analyze, operate, and improve various types of equipment, including electronic, mechanical and test equipment;
- Assist in the production of samples for projects, ensure process are correctly executed and feedback status and issues to senior team members. Conduct required testing on samples to support the project. Collaborate with senior team members to develop and document test procedures, protocols, and specifications for new products;
- Work with team to perform troubleshooting and debugging to resolve technical issues and ensure functionality Actively use the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) processes to diagnose existing failures to prevent reoccurrence and to assess risk of future failures to prevent first occurrence;
- Create required documentation for new/modified equipment and processes including design documentation, clear and accurate work instructions, BOM's drawings, prints, process flows, and test recipes.
Requirements:
- 3+ years' technical experience in chemicals/electronics/mechanics or similar;
- Associates degree is preferred;
- Ability to operate chemical process equipment,Glove Box, air-sensitive processes, controls, assembly of hardware;
- Experience with disposing chemicals properly, decontamination and refurbishment;
- Expertise with vacuum, pressurized and Helium leak detection;
- A fundamental knowledge of chemistry (vapor pressure, material stability, material compatibility, etc.) and thermodynamics (mass flow, etc.) is beneficial;
- Ability to design, qualify and maintain automated manufacturing systems that support chemical purification, thermal processes and test systems;
- Proven experience with controls systems, networking and control logic;
- Understanding of logic and digital circuits, motor controls, instrumentation, and automation of servo-mechanical and other electromechanical systems;
- Ability to Install and program computer hardware and machine software in microprocessor-based systems;
- Ability to fabricate mechanical, electrical, and electronic assemblies;
- Ability to transform electromechanical drawings into design specifications, applying principles of engineering, thermodynamics, mathematics and statistics;
- Familiar with SAP Enterprise software;
- Ability to work on teams collaboratively and independently when developing equipment solutions;
- Strong problem-solving skills to ensure that the equipment performs as expected and complies with regulations;
- Experience with control system integration using communication protocols such as MODBUS, USB, Ethernet, and serial;
- Ability to build control panels. Must be able to complete turn-key automation systems independently from design to integration with minimal support from others;
- Prior experience with writing automated test scripts is highly beneficial;
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and wear PPE as necessary;
- Ability to sit, stand, and move for extended periods.
