The Role: Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking a Sustainability Chemistry Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.
What You'll Do:
* Evaluate biomass derived solvents as less hazardous alternatives to current petroleum-based solvents for polymeric membrane formulation. * Functionalize biobased polymers for different applications. * Identify new energy efficient ways to recycle Entegris large volume used solvents.
What We Seek:
* A third-year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field. * Graduate student pursuing a master's or PhD degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred. * A good knowledge of Organic Chemistry and synthesis required
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
* Organic chemistry synthesis experience * Good knowledge of polymer chemistry * knowledge of polymer formulation will be nice to have but not necessary. * Porous Membrane and Materials characterization experience * Curiosity and excitement about Sustainable materials research and development
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
* A third-year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field * Graduate student pursuing a master's or PhD degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred. Eligibility:
Must be a currently enrolled student Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January 2025-June 2025 Must be familiar with the universities requirements to participate in a co-op program Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
