POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager, Commercial Operations position is responsible for managing Guttman's daily spot deal contracts, 3rd party rack contract commitments, supply optimization and arbitrage, and digital platform sales. This role will collaborate with the supply and sales teams to identify opportunities and execute profitable growth. This individual will collaborate with logistics teams to optimize transportation routes, manage storage facilities, and ensure timely delivery to customers. Your focus will be on driving revenue, maximizing margins, and enhancing customer relationships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:



  • Manage Rack Contract fulfillment and coordinate with sales based on allocations how the product will be lifted and by whom.
  • Design, implement, and execute the day-deal and digital strategy to achieve company volume, profitability, and growth goals.
  • Identify arbitrage opportunities between regions and utilize our existing inventory position, rack position and freight to capture. Be the driver of collaboration between commercial and Source One to capture real value monthly.
  • Ensure meticulous attention to detail in processes, contracts, and customer interactions.
  • Develop and maintain strong industry relationships with key customers and trade organizations, decision makers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Direct the company's governmental and commercial bid activities including the updating and maintenance of the list of bid opportunities in our geographies on an annual basis.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of incumbent bids to understand the margin opportunities and develop strategies to effectively compete for significant new volume.
  • Develop and execute a business plan that secures significant new volume with construction companies for delivered volume.
  • Identify new markets and opportunities for Guttman to participate.
  • Analyze market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and price differentials.
  • Leverage all available pricing outlets (rack, DTN, day deals) to improve our price discovery and better determine market trends.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, analyze data, and provide insights.
  • Promote and support sales programs with the customer base.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:



  • Minimum five years of energy marketing and logistics experience.
  • Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Effectively work in a fast-paced environment: while obtaining assigned growth and margin targets.
  • Ability to collaborate, provide and solicit feedback, express ideas both orally and in writing and communicate relevant and timely information to customers, managers, etc.
  • Self-starter, capable of working independently, within tightly controlled business policies and processes, reporting requirements, and behavioral principles
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the energy industry.
  • Ability to understand problems and make profitable, timely, practical business decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiating skills.
  • Strong computer skills; Experience working in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.), Tableau, PowerBi, CME, ICE, DTN, CQG, Refinitiv
