About the College/Unit/Department |
The
UGA
CVM, founded in 1946, is a recognized leader among veterinary colleges. Ranked among the top five public university veterinary medical programs, over 200 faculty in seven departments welcome 150 incoming professional students annually. While dedicated to training future veterinarians and providing the highest quality hospital and diagnostic laboratory services to animal owners and veterinarians, the
CVM is also a leader in the investigation of animal and human disease. Equipped with technologically advanced biocontainment facilities, such as the Animal Health Research Center, and a One Health Precision Medicine approach that builds on our research and clinical strengths, the
CVM has a total research expenditure of $59.1 million. Nearly $12 million funds vaccine research addressing a range of public health concerns from avian influenza to
COVID.
The College of Veterinary Medicine values all members of the university community, recognizing that differences in experience and culture can only lead to a more well-rounded, accepting academic environment as embodied in our
Principles of Community. |
