Summary of Position |
The Department of Communication Arts & Sciences, housed in the College of Professional Studies at the University of New Hampshire's Manchester campus, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Communication Arts to begin August 18, 2025. The new faculty member will have an academic background in communication and be an excellent, innovative, student-centered teacher who participates in developing and promoting the Communication Arts program and helps sustain and grow its advertising and public relations curriculum.
The regular teaching load is 3/3 per academic year with a rotation of courses that may include Propaganda and Persuasion, Public Relations, Social Media for Organizations and Business, Media Writing, History and Organization of Advertising, Digital Advertising, Media Analytics, and other courses in individual areas of scholarly and teaching expertise. The position also entails mentoring students through independent studies, internships, and capstone projects.
Along with teaching, the successful candidate will have and maintain an impactful, active, and well-regarded research program, pursue grant opportunities, and serve the program, department, college, university, and public as necessary and appropriate. Interest and experience in civic and service learning or other ways to connect student work to business, nonprofit, and underserved communities is a plus. A strong commitment to inclusiveness in a small-college community of diverse traditional and nontraditional learners and interdisciplinary faculty is also expected.
