Job Summary Guides a team responsible for Human Resource (HR) functions. Develops and implements strategies consistent with the Butterball Way culture and business goals. Collaborates with leadership to align HR strategies with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities
- Manages a team of entry to established level individual contributors and/or supervisors. Provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful delivery of department goals. Responsible for HR activities such as hiring, terminations, performance management, goal setting, team member development, scheduling, etc. Enforces and meaningfully contributes to the development of systems, policies, and procedures. Participates in strategic planning for the function
- Reviews, develops, and/or implements policies, programs, and procedures. Ensures consistency in execution.
- Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory compliance agencies relating to labor, wage and hour and employment laws, Employment Eligibility Verification and I-9 laws.
- Assists in the development and administration of Affirmative Action Plans, Equal Employment programs and other governmental rules and regulations pertaining to associate relations.
- Develops and implements data-based HR solutions in partnership with operations leaders that impact performance improvement and support the short- and long-term business goals. Ensures implementation of strategies that equip leaders and team members with the tools and techniques needed for success.
- Collaborates and provides advice to business partners to help guide organizational initiatives at a location level.
- Provides coaching and guidance regarding HR issues, programs, and policies, such as talent and performance management, employee and labor relations, human resources policies and procedures, and employee benefit programs and compensation.
- Oversees the administration of HR tasks, programs, and practices which may include human resource planning, performance assessment and other evaluation programs within assigned responsibilities.
- Investigates and acts on unemployment compensation claims and prepares position statements for DOL and EEOC charges.
- Oversees or conducts internal investigations. May review manager or HR member's recommendations and submittals and engage in discussions with managers and/or team members.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience & Education)
- Highschool diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 6+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
- 2+ year of leadership experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role

- Proven ability to coach, guide, mentor, develop, and support a team

- Proven ability to provide guidance and influence while partnering with corporate leaders to address issues, questions and concerns, responding with urgency to address Human Resources needs
- Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Detailed knowledge of the development and execution of HR policies and procedures, as well as local, state and federal employment laws
- Proven ability to exercise judgment and tact in the application of rules, regulations, policies and procedures in dealing with others in difficult or sensitive situations
- Excellent critical thinking and strategic problem-solving skills and ability to use data to identify solutions
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, HRIS / SAP)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 2+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions
- Work will be performed in a variety of conditions. Primarily in a climate-controlled office environment(s); occasionally in a manufacturing plant environment with varying conditions, such as cold areas, wet areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions; and occasionally in a farm environment including working outdoors in seasonal conditions with live animals and at times in dusty environments. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing and farm environment. This individual may be working around sick or diseased animals where additional precautions may need to be taken.
- The noise level of the office and farm environment is usually moderate. The noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection. Showering in and out of farm locations may be required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
