The Senior Quality Engineer has sole responsibility for the planning, implementation, and administration of complex Quality Programs to assure that a system is in place which will meet or exceed contractual quality requirements and provide the required level of protection to Moog and its Customers. The Senior Quality Engineer must assure optimum utilization of quality inspection and testing resources in achievement of corporate and divisional production objectives.

To be considered for Senior Quality Engineer, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Manufacturing or Quality Engineer
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment including experience with AS9100 or other similar quality management system standards

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Inspection Planning:Developing complex production inspection plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing, assembly and test, engineering procedures, and first article inspections.
  • Quality Planning:Planning, development, implementation, and administration of cost-effective and complex Quality Programs. These activities require the development of traceability plans, contamination plans, configuration control plans for hardware and documentation, and the development of other written plans for customer approval.
  • Contract Compliance:Assuring compliance with contractual issues for complex programs relative to quality, including coordination of customer, government, regulatory agency audits, and flow-down of contract requirements to suppliers and appropriate Moog disciplines.
  • Project Engineering:Performing varied technical tasks which are nonroutine such as product improvement studies, process improvement studies, and development of new systems & procedures. This requires a working knowledge of how to create and evaluate process flow charts, PFMEAs/DFMEAs, Control Plans, Control Charts and Measurement System Analyses.
  • Training:Training and educating teams in the areas of APQP, SPC, GR&R, DOE, and Program specific contractual quality requirements.
  • Program Support:In crisis/customer critical issue situations, quickly assimilate technical details to: (a) Understand the critical elements of the issue and provide direction to the working team; (b) Comprehend the significance of results from various technical activities and formulate responses to our customers; (c) craft customer presentations covering statuses of root cause, risk assessments, corrective actions, preventive actions and recovery plans to address customer complaints.
  • Failure Analysis & Corrective Action:Working cross functionally to resolve manufacturing product and field related quality problems.This includes establishing risk mitigation plans and strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Personnel:Providing technical direction and guidance to the Quality Engineering and Product Engineering teams.This may include working as a group/team leader as well as providing input into the associate's performance reviews.
  • Cost Estimates:Preparing complex quality assurance proposals and related cost estimates for new product introductions. The Quality Engineer must respond promptly to requests for quotation, estimates to complete, and workforce loading estimates for departmental budget planning.

Salary Range Transparency:

Niagara Falls, NY $80,000.00-$125,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
